PoE circuitry relies on Category 6 Cable, which consists of four pairs of thin copper wire. It's lightweight, installs quickly and costs less than $0.35 per foot. Conventional AC circuitry relies on three or more thick copper wires that are heavy and rigid, making installation slow and laborious. AC circuit wiring also costs four to five-times more!
PoE products generally require less wattage, voltage and amperage. This means our circuits can support more infrastructure while still adhering to NEC utilization limits. Fewer circuits mean less infrastructure and lower demand, which amounts to perpetual operational savings over AC-centric infrastructure.
No compromising quality when it comes to premium LED lighting for all sorts of applications, with a broad range of white tones and colors rendered at 90+ CRI, in a selection of modern architectural styles. Replacing AC with PoE lighting replaces 35% of facilities circuiting and wiring with Cat6.
Our products are woven into a single management platform that provides oversight, scheduling, reporting and real-time control with millisecond-low latency. The platform can live on your network or in the cloud with access the way you want it.
PoE has already become the preferred technolgy when it comes to Building Access Control, Alarm, A/V, CCTV, Data, Fire Monitoring and other Safety, Telephony, and Wireless Solutions. Add lighting, environmental controls and smart outlets and not only can we manage every building system, but also limit copper to service only backbone and high voltage systems.
In the US, conventional AC circuitry is said to cause some 500-1,000 deaths annually with approximately 30,000 non-fatal injuries sustained. With PoE you have little chance of even experiencing anything beyond a slight tingle when handling damaged Cat6. And if a cable is connected to the PoE switch with no PoE device connected, a protocol prevents the switch from distributing power to that port, enabling maintenance and installations to be performed without turning off power to the switch or break the circuit at the panel.
